YI JOO HYUK is a Seoul-based commercial photographer working across still life, beauty, cosmetics and advertising.

APPROACH
My photography begins by looking at familiar things in an unfamiliar way.

Working across still life and beauty, I focus on the subtle tension created by material, color and form. Precise lighting and retouching are the foundation, but technical perfection is never the endpoint.

I aim for images that remain commercially exact while leaving one unexpected point inside the frame — work that makes you look again before it explains itself.
